CITY COUNCIL DISTRICT 2
Richard Stewart, Attorney and retired air force colonel (Incumbent)
, Alvin Horn Retired Federal employee, Jose Rameriz, labor relations representative, Marcia Amino Social Worker.
Marcia Amino has been a candidate for district 2 in almost every election for nearly 20 years. She'd do well on the council but has neither the money or support to get elected. Hopefully she will use her candidacy to point out some of the things in Moreno Valley that need to be corrected.
CITY COUNCIL DISTRICT 4
Bonnie Flickenger (incumbent) Read Her e-mail exchange
with a Moreno Valley concerned citizen.
District 4 just may be an upset ending the near 20 year run of the incumbent.
Some may remember the incumbent participating in Moreno Valley's Tea Party to
protest the city utility tax. Running as a LIBERTARIAN she advocated
smaller government. Has Moreno Valley government become smaller in the last 20
years? Her most memorable quote when ending the red light camera program, as
reported by the press enterprise: "It's not a
great money-maker," Moreno Valley Mayor Bonnie Flickinger said.
And they told us the cameras were to increase safety, not make money. Here's one
citizens concerns copied from the Press Enterprise.
Explain camera flip-flop
Moreno Valley Mayor Pro Tem Bonnie Flickinger said red-light cameras are "not a great money-maker" ("Council decides to end red-light cameras," Dec. 18).
Foolish me. I was led to believe that the cameras were installed in order to improve safety by reducing accidents at dangerous intersections. Now, I'm told that they were installed to make money for the city and failing that, they will have to be removed.
It would be so nice to know what data the decision to install red-light cameras was based on. Since the decision to install cameras was made by the City Council, I'd very much like to know what council members knew and when they knew it.
Maybe putting the information out for all to see might preclude future similar mistakes. If nothing else, it would help my own decision-making process when election time comes around.

Only 3 candidates seem to be doing anything that's obvious. Cross has a bunch of signs posted, Victoria Baca has had two fundraisers, and Richard Stewart will have his first on the 26th and has some signs up.
